Shield Pro logo
Shield Pro* is the tried and trusted herbicide for control of yield-robbing weeds in sugar beet. This year marks 50 years of Shield Pro™, a milestone that reflects its long‑standing role in supporting growers through many variable seasons.

Contains: 400 g/l clopyralid
Pack size: 2 litres
Application timing: GS10-39 (when crops meet between the rows). Latest application timing for volunteer potato control is end of June
Application method: Boom sprayer
Key benefits:
  • The leading solution for thistles and volunteer potatoes that also boosts the activity of your tank mix, giving wider control of other broad-leaved weeds in sugar beet, including mayweeds, fool's parsley and fat hen.
  • Excellent crop selectivity and compatibility.
  • Easy to use in a convenient 2 litre bottle with self-seal cap technology, simplifying waste disposal and improving fill up operations.
Shield Pro has become a familiar part of many sugar beet programmes because of the consistency it brings against a broad spectrum of key broad‑leaved weeds, particularly where pressure is high.

Compatible with other sugar beet herbicides, Shield Pro mixes well and is particularly useful when targeting perennial weeds such as creeping thistle. It is also the only real option for control of volunteer potatoes in beet.

In challenging years like 2025, including Shield Pro in the weed control programme boosted control and helped maintain pressure on competitive species that continued to germinate over extended periods.

Its long-term use in the sugar beet crop reflects not just efficacy, but trust; growers know what to expect from it, which becomes especially important when conditions are unpredictable.

*Formerly known as Dow Shield® 400.

Instinct logo
Instinct improves crop performance and sustainability through better nitrogen management.

Contains: 300 g/l nitrapyrin
Pack size: 10 litres
Recommended rate: 1.7 l/ha
Maximum dose: Do not apply more than a total of 3.4 litres of Instinct per hectare per year. (125 days must elapse between applications)
Application timing: Applied in spring. Flexible - pre and post planting, best applied as close to main fertiliser application. For optimum performance 12 mm of rain or irrigation is required within 10 days of application
Key benefits: When using Instinct, farmers and the environment will benefit from:
  • At least 8 more weeks of nitrogen availability in the soil.
  • 50% less greenhouse gas emissions.
  • 45% less nitrogen leaching.
  • 28% greater nitrogen in-soil retention.
  • Optimised nitrogen use.

Kinsidro Grow logo
Kinsidro Grow+ is a foliar biostimulant for use in a wide range of crops including sugar beet.

Contains: Fulvic acids (62%), humic acid, potassium oxide (13.6%), sulphur trioxide (12.5%), boron (0.04%), cobalt (0.05%), copper (0.08%), manganese (0.08%), molybdenum (0.008%), zinc (0.05%)
Pack size: 1 kg
Recommended rate: 150 g/ha
Maximum no. of applications: 2 applications per crop
Application timing: With 1st or 2nd herbicide application (GS12-33)
Application method: Foliar with boom sprayer
Rainfast: 3 hours
Key benefits:
  • Reduces risk of stress to the crop.
  • Production of antioxidants reduces the risk of oxidative stress.
  • Influences cell division and growth so stimulating healthy crop root and leaf growth.
  • Improved plant health by stimulating its metabolic activity, energy economy and stress durability.

BlueN allows sugar beet crops to efficiently use nitrogen and other
nutrients. BlueN colonises growing leaves to support growth throughout the crop cycle. The product helps sugar beet growers to get more from their nutrient investment in a smarter way, reducing waste and minimising nutrient loss to the environment.

Contains: Methylobacterium symbioticum.
Pack size: 3 kg
Recommended rate: 333 g/ha
Maximum no. of applications: 1 application per crop
Application timing: GS16 - 35
Application method: Foliar with boom sprayer
Rainfast: 1 hour
Key benefits:
  • Colonisation of the sugar beet by BlueN stimulates extended plant growth and increased nutrient supply to support plant metabolism.
  • BlueN supports continuous nutrient efficiency by enhancing multiple metabolic functions in the plant resulting in:
  • Sustained photosynthesis.
  • Delayed senescence of leaves.
  • Enhanced uptake and concentration of nutrients thanks to a larger root system and signalling efficiency within the plant.
  • BlueN is simple to store and apply. BlueN has a shelf life of two years. Use on the day of opening, will only keep for a maximum of 1-2 weeks.

Rinskor logo
Our new active, Rinskor™, is set to launch into the sugar beet herbicide market for 2027. This represents a significant R&D investment by Corteva Agriscience in developing advanced weed control solutions for sugar beet, particularly at a time when growers are facing the loss of essential chemistries.

We invite agronomists to register for one of our trial demonstration events to gain valuable insights into Rinskor and see its efficacy in the field.

Events take place May-June and each event day will offer two sessions (8:00 to 10:00 and 14:00 to 16:00). Events will be held at Stetchworth (Suffolk) on 19 May, Brettenham (Norfolk) on 20 and 21 May, Saxilby (Lincolnshire) on 2 June, Stamford (Lincolnshire) on 3 June, and Necton (Norfolk) on 4 June.

When you register, you can choose which demonstration event(s) you would like to attend, and you are welcome to register for multiple events.
