Our first Resilient & Ready cohort complete the programme
Congratulations to Andy Bason and Nick Down for completing the Resilient & Ready programme to become LEAF demonstration farms.

On 26 May, Andy and his team at Newhouse Farm welcomed guests for a tree-planting ceremony to mark the occasion before leading a farm tour to demonstrate their approach to managing woodland, environmental stewardship schemes, biodiversity and soil health. You can read the press release here, or click the video below to watch a summary of the day.

Nick Down's launch on 21st June was well attended by several key figures across the industry. Take a look at our social media channels for images from the day!

Four farmers share their experiences of growing PT303, our WOSR hybrid
We've collated the stories from four farmers who have experience growing our new sclerontinia tolerant variety PT303 Protector® Sclerotinia. By sowing PT303, farmers can incorporate a level of tolerance to sclerotinia for the first time into their crop management planning.
Olly Pemberton (pictured above) drilled PT303 in early August last year, across 20ha of the farm’s 900ha in Wiltshire using a disc drill to plant into chalky soil following winter barley. He said:

“It looks fantastically clean from a disease point of view. Some of the varieties out there in the trial are looking a bit dirtier but this is clean. It established brilliantly, and, for early autumn vigour, it went like a train – going into Christmas it looked phenomenal. It’s all flowering now so it seems quite resilient, and I haven’t written any of it off."
